One of the most common complaints I see from muscle building newbies is that they just don’t have the time to prepare proper muscle building breakfasts. Well, here’s one nutritious and tasty muscle building breakfast that should help lay those fears to rest. Remember: muscle building is not so much about time as it is willpower. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
This muscle building breakfast is just one example out of many that are out there. I’m only going to use this one example, though, because I’ve recently been using it to get a great morning meal in without spending a lot of time. Give this recipe a shot on some Saturday morning and you’ll be ready to rock it out on a daily basis by Monday.
As you get comfortable with building your own breakfasts, you will want to add certain things to this recipe. Many bodybuilders start out with eggs as the basic and add oats, nuts, lean meats and all sorts of other goodies.
Quick No Excuse Egg Super Breakfast
Go to the grocery store and buy the following items:
- A bunch of eggs
- Skim milk
- A bag of shredded cheese*
- Some canned chopped peppers or onions
- Bag of oranges
*If you’re on a calorie crunch, ditch the shredded cheese. This is just an extra little bonus for being good and actually cooking breakfast. Choose your own destiny on this one.
Just add this to your grocery list if you don’t feel like getting up and getting these things separately. These ingredients aren’t terribly complicated or hard to use, so go ahead and get them. Trust me, you’ll use everything on this list quickly.
This recipe is going to pretend like you’re in a big rush to cook breakfast and get to work. Once you get the routine down, you’ll get really fast at finishing everything. Yes, this does take a little more time than grabbing a Pepsi and bag of chips on the way out the door, but that’s just a part of the sacrifice for a great, healthy body.
Wake up, go straight to your kitchen and set a pan on the stove. Turn the stove on to medium or medium-low heat.
Now get all your ingredients out on the counter. Grab a plate, bowl, shredded cheese, eggs, milk, onions and orange.
Crack open four to six eggs and pour them in the bowl. Fish out all of the yolks with a spoon except for one or two of them. Add a splash of skim milk and a dash of pepper.
Mix everything up until it is a single consistency and pour it into the hot pan.
Rinse off the bowl and whatever you used to stir and throw both in the dishwasher.
Rinse your orange and peel it as quickly as you can. Remember, we are in a rush here! Set the peeled orange on your plate.
The eggs should be getting ready for you to start chopping and mixing them up. If the bottom of the eggs is starting to look like an omelet, you are doing great. Now flip the bottom side over with a spatula and start messing everything up. We are making scrambled eggs here.
As soon as you mix up the eggs a bit, throw in your shredded cheese and onions.
Continue stirring and chopping the eggs until they resemble scrambled eggs and are no longer runny.
Turn off the oven, pour the eggs onto your plate next to the orange and put your pan in the sink. Scarf down the eggs, take a quick shower and then clean the pan.
Congratulations. You just ate the perennial bodybuilder’s breakfast without turning the kitchen into a complete mess – and you still have plenty of time to get to work.
Eating A Healthy Breakfast Is Extremely Important
This is just a single idea for breakfast, but it should show you how possible it is to prepare nutritious muscle building meals. When I first started bodybuilding, the entire diet and nutrition aspect of the lifestyle really intimidated me. I didn’t want to cook, clean or change my schedule around.
After I actually tried it a few times, though, I learned how simple it all really is. And the best part is that this is just one idea out of many that you can use. Eggs, oatmeal, fresh fruits, chicken and all kinds of things can be prepared to make healthy meals that will help you reach your goals quicker.
